Your participation in this run (whether in person on the plateau or virtually) will enable Libumba's 9 community disability workers to continue their good work!
Libumba currently focuses on three main goals:
- To ensure that all children with disabilities access the services they need. This includes healthcare, education, and participation in social events.
- To support the caregivers of children with disabilities. We strongly believe that "a caregiver who feels supported is better able to support." Several of the Libumba families have reported that the community workers have made a big difference in their lives and have given them to hope to carry on and love their child!
- To advocate for children living with disabilities within the child's family, in his/her immediate community of neighbours, school and church, and in the wider community through involvement in the umphakatsi.
Your contribution is helping us to make sure we can reach these goals, bringing support, health and inclusion to some of the most marginalized in community!
Please note that all participation and activities will take place at your own risk. Libumba Inclusion Initiative, our larger umbrella organization, Medical Missions Eswatini (MME), and our hosts, Mabuda Guest Farm, will not be held responsible for any harm to or loss of person or property. You will be requested to agree to the attached indemnity upon registration.
